I feel Bob Corker is, in reality, the same way.

In the US Senate, I believe Bob Corker will fit nicely between solid members like Lincoln Chaffee, Arlen Spector, and Kent Conrad. Members who understand the value of a good social government program, but also believe individuals should make their own private personal decisions.

Washington County Straw Poll

First off, hat tip to JB over at Blogging for Bryant. He has the insider info. According to Jay, unconfirmed straw poll results from tonight's Washington County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner:

Ed Bryant 85
Bob Corker 81
Van Hilleary 52

This is very good news for the Corker camp. Most polls show Bob is still a relative unknown when it comes to Name ID, but these results show he is starting to make some head-way amongst the party folk.

Now, I must admit, this blogger is a little surprised how well a centrist-progressive thinking guy like Mayor Corker could do so well in a hard conservative Republican county like Washington. I mean Bush beat Kerry 66% to 33% there in 2004. Maybe the folks in Washington County are loosening up a bit and not being so darn crazy conservative anymore? Let's hope!

Welcome!

Well, after watching idlely by for months, I have decided to start a blog dedicated to Mayor Bob Corker and his US Senate campaign. My hope is to use this blog to educate the good people of Tennessee about Mayor Corker's very effective what I call "liberal/progressive" tendecies.

Now I know Bob is running in a Republican primary in a Red state like Tennessee and will try to run a bit toward the right-conservative wing of the party in hopes of winning the nomination. But, I personally wish the guy just would not do that. Because when he does he is running against his convictions.

Anyway, I'll use this blog to convey that in the coming months.
